In the morning, we got up early, loaded a thousand and one bags into our small car, and drove from Sydney to the Blue Mountains National Park. Looking ahead, I was most delighted with this park throughout the trip, although, looking at the photographs when planning the trip, I had no idea how beautiful it could be there.
The Enchantment of Blue Mountains

Blue Mountains – seemingly impassable mountains and eucalyptus forests (Europeans have been trying in vain to cross them almost since moving to the mainland; it is documented that they succeeded only in 1813). Because of the eucalyptus vapours, a tiny blue haze hovers over the mountains, which is why the hills are named that way. There are other versions on the Internet about the origin of the name, but I choose to believe in this one.
Attractions in the Blue Mountains

One of the most famous attractions in the Blue Mountains is the Three Sisters rock complex. These cliffs are as renowned as tourist attractions in the Sydney area as the 12 Apostles limestone cliffs are for the people of Melbourne. But besides these rocks, there is something to see there – from small waterfalls accessible to everyone, regardless of their level of physical fitness, to multi-day treks through rain forests.
Exploring the Blue Mountains

Our programme in the Blue Mountains was quite extensive: Echo Point, Scenic Railway, and waterfalls. First, we stopped at one of the observation points (the photo was taken there earlier), and then we went to Echo Point. At Echo Point, crowds of tourists are photographing the same object – the Three Sisters above. There is a whole legend that the girls, as expected in the legend, were not married off to the right people, etc. This “legend” is told to tourists, although if you carefully read the inscriptions around, you can find out that the legend was invented. The rocks have been a place of worship for residents for thousands of years, and initially, there were more of them (the stones), at least 4.
Scenic World Adventure
After taking a “me and the rocks” photo, we headed to Scenic World Blue Mountains, Australia – a complex of cable cars and rails for quick travel along the gorge. Since 1880, coal was mined in these places, and on weekends, in 1928, trolleys began to be used to transport passengers. By 1945, the mine was closed, and this tourist attraction was created. Wikipedia writes that the railway was closed for reconstruction, but we managed to ride on it. We bought three tickets for our whole family: to go down the railway, back up on the cable car, and ride through the gorge on another cable car.
Nature’s Trail

Below, you can walk through the fern-eucalyptus forest along paved footbridges and paths. You can walk as much as you like. The main thing is to get back upstairs before closing; otherwise, you must stomp on your foot. After our trip to Jenolan Caves, I’ll show you what else
